Praxis refers to practical application, and it is a term often paired in opposition to theory.  Theory is an idea and praxis is about bringing the idea into reality.

Filmmakers know about theory and praxis.  They come up with story ideas and create  films from their imagination.  They conjure up amazing images in their mind’s eye, but what ends up on film depends on practical matters like how much cash and credit they have, how many friends can help, and who will show their film.  Independent filmmakers create something from almost nothing every time they finish a film on their own dime.

Attend Praxis Film Festival to support student filmmakers and professional independent filmmakers!

News Release: Beginning 2014, Praxis Film Festival will screen films at two locations — the Wayne Community College campus and at The Paramount Theater in downtown Goldsboro!  The downtown experience will include great films, great places to eat, and cozy places to gather for coffee and conversations about the films!
