WCC’s Upgrade to Blackboard 9

When

WCC will go live with Blackboard 9 for the Summer 2010 term.

Blackboard will go down Friday May 14 at 1PM and be back up by 6PM Sunday May 16.

FAQ

Can I go ahead and start working on my Summer courses using the current Blackboard system? Yes

Will I loose the information in my courses when you convert to the new version? No

Bb 9 Sandbox

If you would like to see what Blackboard 9 looks like, I would suggest requesting a Blackboard 9 sandbox. This will allow you to play around and get familiar with the new layout.

Note: this will not contain your courses but will allow you to play around with a generic course.

Click the “Request Your Release 9 Preview Account Today” button.

If you DO NOT plan to teach a course this Summer using Blackboard. I wouldn’t worry about setting up a Sandbox. You can just wait until the Summer when the new system will be in place.

I have set up the following dates and times to provide an overview of Blackboard 9 and help you set up your Blackbaord Sandbox. If you can’t meet during one of these times I’ll be happy make an appointment with you.
